Leadership Competency #2
Basics of Communication - 1/8
NOTE: This module draws from my earlier work under Black Market Leadership. The ideas here predate Chaos Studies in Leadership and form the foundation that made this work possible.
This module introduces Basic Communication, the second core competency of Level One. It focuses on the fundamentals leaders must master before attempting advanced writing, speaking, or persuasion. Effective communication begins with clarity, structure, and the disciplined use of essentials—not style or polish.
The module builds directly on Thinking in Essentials, applying the concept model to communication by breaking ideas into their core elements and forming clear, retainable definitions. Mastering these basics ensures that messages are understood, remembered, and acted upon, providing the foundation for all higher-level communication skills in leadership.
