This segment introduces the two pillars of leadership: mission and people. Every leadership style falls somewhere on a spectrum between these two forces. Leaders who overemphasize the mission risk burning out or losing their teams; leaders who overemphasize people risk sacrificing performance, accountability, and results. Effective leadership requires understanding where you and others sit on this balance and developing the ability to adjust—driving the mission while protecting the team. Mastery of this balance is what creates reliable, trusted teams that can perform under pressure and adapt in chaos.
